SPEAKERS

Yong Yang
Senior Economist
Corporate Economics and Strategic Issues

Yong Yang is currently senior economist in Corporate Economics and Strategic Issues of Ford Motor Company. He provides advice to corporate senior and regional management on key economic and industry issues. Outside Ford, he speaks regularly at trade associations and academic conferences.

Before coming to the United States, he worked as a senior macroeconomist at the China State Planning Commission (now the National Development and Reform Commission) from 1986-1991 and published extensively on premier Chinese economic journals and newspapers.

Yong Yang holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan and a Master Degree from the School of Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University. He has published economic and industry research papers in top economic and management journals including Economic Letters, Canadian Journal of Economics, and Management Science. In addition, he has won a U.S. patent on financial technology innovation and two Ford top research awards on auto industry trend forecast. He was named as Ford Top Achiever three times.

Yong Yang served as President of the Ford Chinese Association during 2009 and 2010. He was honored for his excellent leadership when he retired from his presidency.

Dennis A. Johnson, CFA
Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Johnson is Chief Investment Officer for Comerica Asset Management Group responsible for developing investment strategies for Comerica's high net worth and institutional clients. As co-manager of Comerica Asset Management Group's Investment Policy Committee, Mr. Johnson is responsible for analyzing the markets and determining the appropriate asset allocation targets for Comerica's investment professionals. He also serves as the Group's primary spokesperson in national media on investment philosophy, asset allocation, market sector analysis and other market matters.

Mr. Johnson's 30 years of investment experience includes positions as Managing Director for Shamrock Capital Advisors, Inc., the registered investment advisory firm of the Roy E. Disney family, Sr. Portfolio Manager Global Equity for the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), Managing Director for Citigroup and Portfolio Manager for SunTrust Bank.

He received his Masters of Science in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelors of Art in Economics from Virginia Military Institute. Mr. Johnson is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Detroit.
